Once again it is coming around to the time of year when strange things happen in the village of Church Minshull as the annual Madness Event takes place.
On Friday 30th August top Abba tribute band, Bjorn UK, will play at Church Minshull Village Hall in an evening of sing-along and dance-along hits from the Swedish super-group. The doors open at 7:30pm and tickets are available for £12:50 from 01270 522144. The capacity of the hall is limited so pre booking of tickets is strongly advised to avoid disappointment. There is of course a bar available.
On Saturday 31st August the main event takes place on the Badger field when there will be fun and games for all ages including the famous “whole village tug-of-war”. Again food and drink will be available for purchase. This is a free event aimed primarily at the children of the village but we don’t seem to be able to stop the adults taking part! The fun starts at 3pm.
Finally on Sunday 1st September it is the Inaugural Country Fair, again on the Badger field. There are competitions and classes for all ages ranging from fancy dress to cake making, from photography to dog classes. Again entry is free and it starts at 1pm.
This is a major event in the life of the village and brings the whole community together in a fun way.
