Nantwich estate agent gives £25,000 back to the community

This week on The CATch up Tim was joined by John Baker of Baker Wynne & Wilson.

In celebration of 25 years in business, Nantwich estate agent, Baker Wynne & Wilson have launched a £25,000 community pledge.

Inviting people to apply for a slice of the exceptional fund, Baker Wynne & Wilson will be splitting the £25,000 pot across a broad range of organisations and charities throughout the area. The company, which has sold in excess of 3600 houses over the years, is looking to support a number of groups, in particular, smaller ones working at a grass roots level.

John Baker and Simon Morgan-Wynne started the company back in June 1992. John Baker comments: “Simon and I have been selling houses in the Nantwich area all of our working lives. The Nantwich community spirit is second to none and as such, we felt strongly about celebrating 25 years in business by giving back to the community that has moulded us.

“We anticipate making around 15 donations, however it is up to local organisations, charities and groups to help us decide what they need in terms of funding and who it will benefit. To say that we are excited is an understatement and we look forward to receiving as many applications as possible.”

We have assembled a judging panel for the project, bringing together some of the region’s most “well-known and respected figures.”

The panel comprises:

Sarah Callander-Beckett, The High Sheriff of Cheshire 2017, Chair of Judging Panel
Steve Leonard, local Vet and TV personality
Christine Farrall, past mayor of Nantwich
Mike Heler, Managing Director of Joseph Heler Cheese
Sue Baker, representing Baker Wynne and Wilson

The closing date for applications is Friday 12th May, with shortlisted applications being announced on Thursday 15th June and the final successful applicants being announced by the end of July.
