Bunbury Mill’s regular Sunday openings are suspended during the winter – partly in response to demand, but mainly so that the volunteer team can work on the many aspects of maintenance and restoration that are required to preserve our unique heritage. Among the many tasks completed, the massive bearings have been cleaned and re-greased, improvements have been made to the lighting and the stair handrails, and the wooden cogs have been inspected for wear and security. In the grounds, trees have been pruned and damaged fencing has been repaired.
The mill will re-open for the 2019 season on Sunday 31st March – see their web site for details at www.bunburymill.com. Among the many special events planned, they will be hosting visits from several vintage car clubs. The mill is open to the public every Sunday afternoon and on Bank Holiday Monday afternoons from 31st March 2019 until the end of October.
