Heart Warriors FC vs Calm 84 FC Crewe

Calm 84 FC Crewe are a newly formed charity football team, based in Crewe, who raise money for CALM and for local charities.

Calm 84 FC Crewe will play their first match against another charity football team when they face Heart Warriors FC.

The match is free entry, via a bucket collection, and takes place at Whitegate United FC’s ground (Cassia Lane, Whitegate, Northwich CW8 2BP) on Sunday 6th June 2021 (kick off 1:00pm).

Donations will go to Heart Warriors FC’s main charity partner who are Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey Liverpool and since 1993 have provided home from home accommodation for the families of seriously ill children receiving care and treatment at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Prior to the match Calm 84 FC Crewe Manager Mark Dunning and goalkeeper James Hiddleston will walk from Crewe to the fixture (14 miles in total), to raise money for Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey Liverpool.

Calm 84 FC Crewe raises awareness and funds for CALM, a leading a movement against suicide, as every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives and 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM provides a free, confidential helpline 0800 58 58 58; webchat (5pm-middnight, 365 days a year, staffed by trained professionals; bereavement support; a website with inspiring content; and campaigns tackling stereotypes of masculinity, suicide and mental health. 

Calm 84 FC Crewe played their first fund-raising match versus a Crewe Alexandra Coaches XI at the Alexandra Stadium in Crewe in May this year. The event raised over £850 for young Crewe Alexandra Academy goalkeeper, Ashton Hulme, who has a rare form of bone cancer.

Calm 84 FC Crewe host a weekly training session at King George V playing fields in Crewe and aim to hold a fixture against a fellow charity club every six to eight weeks. Calm 84 FC Crewe are also participating in the National Affinity Cup, an FA Cup style competition for UK based charity football clubs to promote unity, togetherness and purpose.
