Community Hero Award – Pete Cooper

Pete Cooper – Community Hero

The sixteenth of our Cat Community Hero Awards has been presented to Peter Cooper from Crewe.

Pete has been a volunteer at Leighton Hospital for 3 years and is on the Main Entrance as a Meet and Greet.

Carole Salmon told us “I would like to nominate Pete Cooper for the Community Hero Award.

“He is always smiling and keen to support staff and visitors and plays an integral role all in his own time.

“Especially at the moment he is ensuring everyone entering the building at that busy area is given a mask to wear during their time in the hospital.

“His Christmas suit went down a storm in 2019 and people were giving him donations for MCHC to have a selfie with him!

“He also featured in the video which was created for last year’s celebration of achievement  event (see above).”

Well done Pete, from all the team at The Cat, we are awarding you one of our Community Hero Awards and will be delivering a special Cat Cake, Baked by Gill (Facebook), which we hope you enjoy.

Chris Cadman, Managing Director, The Cat community radio said: “The Cat 107.9 FM continues to find ways to help and inform the community during the Coronavirus crisis.

“The Community Hero Award recognises people who are going the extra mile to help the community and whose efforts help lift people’s spirits.

“It is fantastic and heart-warming to recognise local people and their efforts and to say a big thank you.”
