The first match at the Alexandra Stadium for Crewe Alexandra Women ended in defeat after the match finished in a 1-1 draw with Tranmere going on to win 3-2 on penalties.
Crewe controlled the game and led with with a fine finish from Megan Parker, only for Tranmere to equalise with a late, long range strike to force penalties
