The final was held at the Vicarage Road Stadium, the home ground of Premier League club Watford FC.

Organised by the Premier League Charitable Fund, the Premier League Primary Stars football tournament is the country’s most prestigious football tournament for primary schools and gives young players the chance to experience the thrill of being treated like a top-flight footballer. The players also got to have a picture with the Premier League Cup Trophy.

The team were cheered on by local Crewe and Nantwich MP Dr Kieran Mullan who travelled from Parliament to visit them.

Kieran commented “It was really special to be able to visit the Mablins Lane Primary School U11’s girls’ team in the finals of the Premier League Primary Stars tournament in Watford.

“What an achievement to make it all the way to the final! The girls can be so proud of themselves as can their teachers, the Alex Soccer Centre and Crewe FC whom many of the girls are proud to play for outside of school.”
