The Tree of Light Ceremony took take place at Crewe Cemetery on Friday 3rd December 2021. The compere for the dignified event was Rob Wykes.

The talented children’s choir from Saint More’s School sung ‘Believe’ and later sung ‘Silent Night’.

Crewe Town Council’s mayor, Tom Dunlop and Catherine Morgan-Jones from End of Life Partnership both gave readings.

Arun Kanjilal lit the Memory Candle and ‘Fall in Green’s’ Deborah Edeley  sung a poem ‘Sky Robes of Celeste’, while Mark Sheeky played the keyboard.

The MicWire choir led by Kate Cubley sung ‘Wintersong’.

After the readings, Councillor Tom Dunlop counted down to switch on the Tree of Light. It looked beautiful with its lights shining on the silver stars which danced in  the breeze. At the end of the ceremony Rob Wykes asked the large audience to shine a light for their loved ones and he then read a prayer to close the service.
