Dementia Awareness Week   

Dementia Awareness Week – 16th May TO 22nd May 2022

The Thursday club is supporting Creating Dementia Friendly Nantwich to provide several activities to raise awareness of Dementia.

The Thursday Club meets every Thursday from 10.30 to 12.30 in St Marys parish Hall Nantwich we aim to support those living with the condition along with their cares and families we provide a friendly environment, refreshments, activities, and a smile.

During Dementia Awareness week we are supporting several activities listed below

Chatty Bench situated on Nantwich Memorial Square members of the group are yarn bombing the bench and will be on hand during the week to give advice and support or just a smile and friendly chat.

The bench is going to be formally opened by Cheshire East Cllr Jill Rhodes Chair of Adult Social Care at 11 am on Monday 16th May 2022. (Photo Opportunity)

Awareness Stall

On Tuesday and Thursday of the week as well as the chatty bench Creating Dementia Friendly Nantwich (CDFN) will man a stall which will be supported by care providers, voluntary groups who provide care and support for all living with Dementia.

Turning Nantwich Blue

CDFN has also challenged local business to turn Nantwich blue asking them to dress shop fronts forget me not blue, those taking part will receive a participation certificate from Nantwich Town Council these will be handed out on Thursday 19th May (photo Opportunity 12 noon)

Coffee Morning

Lastly The Thursday Club will open its club to all join them for refreshments and of course a fund-raising raffle.
