Today Nantwich Town have signed striker Scott McGowan from 1874 Northwich. The 33 year old striker arrives at Nantwich having scoring a club record 128 goals in just 189 appearances in just over 4 seasons with the Mid Cheshire club.
Dave Cooke had this to say on the signing, “I’ve finally got my man! Scott has been a target for the last 3 years now, so I am delighted to get him signed at last. I believe this signing now completes the squad, he is a great goal scorer and with a fantastic record at 1874 Northwich and with Congleton before that. We can’t wait to get him going and he will go straight into the squad for Tuesday night.”
Scott gave us his thoughts on signing for the Dabbers, “Firstly, I want to thank Dave for the opportunity, it’s a chance to test myself at a higher level and a challenge I can’t wait to start. Nantwich has a great set up and a great set of lads and I can’t wait to play my first game and get to know my new teammates.”
Scott also wanted to pay respect to his previous club 1874 Northwich, “I want to thank everyone at ’74, I’ve had a great time whilst at the club and got some wonderful memories during my time. I’ve had a great relationship with the fans and the committee at the club, I wish them all the very best for the future.”
Scott should hopefully be able to make his debut for Nantwich on Tuesday night as we travel to Gainsborough Trinity.
