Clare Herbert-Jackson of What’s Happening on North Street is Ian Maddock’s guest on today’s Late Lunch
The Friendship Group is a group that has been running for over 3 years and is now a well established group of around 15-20 people each week, many of whom are socially isolated, and for some it is the only real time they interact with other people through the week. They have various activities including games, crafts, outside speakers and have recently started generating their own activities and ideas.
The Craft Hub is therapy through arts and is aimed at people with mild mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety, depression and social anxiety which can often have a disproportionate effect on daily living. They have a variety of arts and crafts projects which they enjoy but also allows them to talk and find mutual support.
