Nantwich Town 0-2 Lancaster City (Tues 21-12-2021) at the Optimum Pay Stadium in the Pitching In Northern Premier League – Premier Division. Goals from Turner and Charlie Bailey give the visitors the three points.

Prior to the game, Carl Thorpe, Nantwich Town Club Secretary & Programme Editor, said: “It’s the last match before Christmas and the last home game in 2021. It’s safe to say it has been a difficult year for everyone and no more so than our football club. Having spent the first half of the year with no football and no income, the generosity of our loyal supporters, sponsors and commercial partners in the summer was fantastic. Sadly the results on the pitch haven’t yet matched that backing and I know as a club we are itching to put that right as soon as possible.

“The one major positive this year is our FA Trophy performances, once again we have shown that we have the ability and desire to pit our wits against top nonleague opposition, as we did at King’s Lynn Town on Saturday. Although we ultimately lost the game, we can take credit that we gave them as good as we got, and we very nearly took the game to penalties in the last 5 minutes. The deserved 3-2 win in the Cheshire Senior Cup away at Altrincham last Tuesday against a strong side just proves what we are more than capable of.”
