The inaugural Nantwich Vegan Fair took place at Nantwich Civic Hall on Saturday 18th January 2020.
This free event aimed to help people discover the range of products available in the vegan lifestyle and featured several dozen stalls ranging from vegan food stalls offering pizza, kebabs, and cheese to sweet treats including, cakes, fudge and doughnuts.
As well as vegan food offerings there were also shopping opportunities including handmade soaps, jewellery, bags, cosmetics, candles and clothing.
Local and national charities exhibited at the event to help raise awareness, including The Woodland Trust and Pashupathi Animal Sanctuary.
There were also talks throughout the day aiming to highlight and educate on the benefits of a vegan lifestyle, along with advice and tips on how to carry it out.
In addition, fun hands-on workshops were available for a small charge.
Vegans have a plant-based diet avoiding all animal foods such as meat (including fish, shellfish and insects), dairy, eggs and honey – as well as avoiding animal-derived materials, products tested on animals and places that use animals for entertainment.
