Karen Delay, aged 62 from Nantwich, has successfully completed her epic ‘End to End’ charity challenge by walking 874 miles – the equivalent distance as Land’s End to John o’ Groats.
Karen raised the money in aid of the Nantwich Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal to support the Armed Forces community as, due to Covid-19 restrictions, they were unable to place their usual poppy appeal tins around Nantwich.
Karen started her circular walks within Wychwood Park at the end of September 2020 and finished in Wychwood on Saturday 20th February 2021. She exceeded her target of £1,000 and has raised over £1,100.
Karen has previously raised £1,000 for the Nantwich Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal when she completed the Royal Marine Training course in Lympstone, Devon.
Karen Delay said: “I’ve gone through four pairs of trainers and lost some weight. I am thrilled to raise over £1,100 for Nantwich British Legion Poppy Appeal. They have continued to support our military and veterans – despite the fact the majority of British Legion volunteers are in the vulnerable category and have been unable to carry out their usual work to raise money for the Poppy Appeal.”
