Peter Pan – Review

J M Barrie’s magical swashbuckling high flying adventure Peter Pan is brought to life in this year’s pantomime at the fabulous Crewe Lyceum theatre.

It stars the much loved comedy duo Cannon and Ball as pirates Tommy and Bobby. They are back for their third year at the Lyceum once again bringing the house down with a superb tongue in cheek performance.

Former X factor star Chico plays the part of big chief cheeky Chico ensuring everyone knows it’s “Chico Time”, Malcolm Lord is unmissable as the outrageously costumed Mrs Smee and lights up the stage with every appearance. Watch out for the multi talented Andy Eastwood as Pirate Starkey and the children from Crewe’s own YSD Theatre School as the babes.

There is everything an audience could wish for with evil pirates , a very hungry ticking crocodile and the man we all love to hate Captain Hook, “Boo Hiss” brilliantly played by Stefan Pejic who’s over the top performance is an absolute joy to watch. The role of Peter is ably played by Joshua Wyatt with Maisie Amelia-Redgrave as Wendy complimented by Danielle Lockwood’s roller skating Tinker-bell and not forgetting a talented ensemble cast.

Looking around the audience it was very clear to me that this production is a huge crowd pleaser with much fun and laughter to be had at any age . Even a wizened old fella like me was chanting along with the audience to bring tinker bell back to life. The Lyceum have once more given us an unmissable Panto. It runs until 5th January 2020 and you won’t be disappointed.
