Some 136 years ago, there was great excitement as Queens Park was dedicated to the people of Crewe, exactly 50 years after the first train stopped at Crewe, and when the town commemorated Queen Victoria’s 50 year rule. The actual opening ceremony took place 12 months later, in 1888.
This year celebrates another very special occasion as Queen Elizabeth, celebrates her Platinum Jubilee 70 year reign. Given the very close Royal relationship with Queens Park, the Friends of the Park wished to acknowledge this occasion. So, on Friday 3rd June a whole host of family activities are planned at Queens Park from 11am to 3pm.
Jubilee fun includes, various dancing display, fabulous live music from traditional to soul and rock, arena acts, fitness display, inflatables, dog show, fancy dress, punch and judy, fitness displays, crafts, stands, stalls, and refreshments all on site. Plus, be amazed at the Stunt Acts with the Wheel of Death defies gravity and The Mighty Smith Strong Man, all in the main arena. There is even a throne, designed by students at Crewe Design and Engineering College, where you can to take a few selfies!

David Brown, Head of Operations at Bakkavor bread added, “At Bakkavor, we’re thrilled to be sponsoring and participating in the Queens Park Platinum Jubilee event. This special event for Crewe will be one to remember, as we come together to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 70-year reign!
The last two years have been difficult and challenging for everyone; with limited occasions for our community to come together in such a way. This is a great opportunity for all residents of Crewe and beyond; to come along and join us in what will be a fantastic day of fun, games, prizes (and maybe even some sun!).
As a major employer, and key business in the local Crewe and Nantwich communities; the team at Bakkavor are proud to be a part of this celebration. Come and see our stands to learn all about who we are and what we do, a chance to win some prizes, and maybe even sign up to come and join our team!”
