Retiring as Mayor of Nantwich last night (Thursday 12th May), Councillor Stuart Bostock was pleased to present cheques to three local charities during his retiring speech.

Throughout his year in office the Mayor has been fundraising, which included the Mayor’s Quiz, for Nantwich First Responders, Nantwich Royal British Legion and the RSPCA at Stapeley.

Representatives from each of the charities attended the Civic Hall to be presented by the retiring Mayor with a cheque each for over £1200.

Lee Stewart from Stapeley RSCPA commented “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Mayor for this kind donation. Stapeley RSCPA relies heavily on the support of the local community, and we are very grateful to the residents of Nantwich.’
Retiring from his year as Mayor, Councillor Bostock emotionally commented “It has been a very special and enjoyable year and I have been extremely honoured and privileged to be your Town Mayor over the past twelve months.”
In addition to thanking all those that had welcomed him so warmly at engagements, he thanked his family and fellow Councillors for their support over the year.
