Skelmersdale United 1 Sandbach United 6

In the St Luke’s cup, Sandbach United travelled to North West Counties Premier Division side Skelmersdale United for a early kick off behind closed doors on Saturday which finished 6-1 to Sandbach.

Aaron Knight scores from the six yard box

Sandbach took the lead after only 5 minutes when Aaron Knight turned unmarked in the six yard box and fired past the keeper.

Sandbach doubled their lead after 12 minutes when Callum Evans curled a shot over the keeper to make it 2-0 Sandbach.

Sean Moscrop made it 3-0 just before half time when Aaron Knight held the ball up on the edge of the box and released Moscrop who skipped through the defence and rifled home.

Bobby McDonnell

Bobby McDonnell was fouled in the box at the start of the second half and he converted the penalty (46′) to make it 4-0 to Sandbach.

Taylor Jones then scored for Skelmersdale after 58 minutes with a shot from the edge of the box.

Sandbach made it 5 (77′) when Bobby McDonnell pulled back for Kieran Gardner-Knapper to knock a cross to Jacob Rowe who passed it into the net.

Jacob Rowe then scored his second in the final minutes (87′) to make it 6-1 to Sandbach.
