Twichy’s May Round Up

May was certainly a busy month and for a cat that likes to be out and about the theme of “the great outdoors” was right up my street!

We had some really fabulous guests that came to visit us, telling us all about events and activities that take place in the great outdoors of Crewe and Nantwich.

We had visits from 2 gardening clubs Bunbury Gardening club and the Sherbourne Estate Community garden. Being outdoors in the garden really does help individuals in so many ways, both physically and emotionally. Connecting with the other people in the local community and connecting with nature is a great way to spend our time.

One thing I don’t understand is why people don’t like me in their garden?

Perhaps you want to look at making your garden looking beautiful this year, we had some great top tips from Matt from M and M Garden Maintenance. He explained the problems that we may come up against this time of year. I enjoyed hearing all about how we can all make our gardens look lovely – I was surprised he said to keep the cats out!!

Kate came on to the Late Lunch Show and spoke to Steve about her 100-mile walk. Kate is fundraising for Surfers Against Sewage. It was interesting to hear about the walk and the great charity she is raising funds for, it’s so important that we look after our planet, it’s a beautiful planet that we all should take care of.

St Luke’s Hospice also popped in to talk about their “All change” midnight walk, this year it starts at 10pm on June  29th and is open to all, I am thinking of joining in, I am sure many will want to walk with a handsome Cat like me.

Another two great guests who came in to chat were Phil and Rodney who spoke about the brave work of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) crews and the fantastic fundraising of the South Cheshire branch. It was great finding out about their local work, they are looking for volunteers if you are interested you can email them at I am definitely considering it; cats can be good swimmers!

It’s been a great month and I look forward to finding out all about volunteer month for the month of June.
